Problem: 

During update or re-installation of the EzParts electronic parts catalog software (while copying resources) the following error message appears: "Access to path C:\EzParts5.0_Data\Manufacturer is denied"

Cause: The error message could be caused by couple of reasons:

1. The EzParts electronic parts catalog software application is running during the update or re-install and a file is opened in the application while the installer is attempting to update it.
2. One or more of the files in the specified directory have the 'read-only' attribute.

Solution: 

To solve the issue, you can try one of the following:

A. Delete all resources from C:\EZPARTS5.0_DATA and allow the intaller to re-install them during DVD installation. With this method you will not encounter the same error while overwriting other resources.

B. Copy all the resources manually from both DVDs to your computer and run EzParts electronic parts catalog software installation, during which resources will be left in the installation folder where you copied the files prior to running the installer.

Copying all the resources manually  from both DVDs to your computer:

1. Open Resources folder on the first EzParts electronic parts catalog software disk. 
2. On the Edit menu, click Select All or press Ctrl+A. 
3. On the Edit menu, click Copy or press Ctrl+C.
4. Go to My computer -> Local Disk C -> EzParts5.0_DATA -> Manufacturer_name (or to the other location you specified during the installation of EzParts 5.0).
5. On the Edit menu, click Paste or press Ctrl+V to paste the copied folders.
6. Insert the second EzParts electronic parts catalog software disk and repeat steps 2-5.

Running EzParts installation, during which resources will be left on the DVDs:

1. Proceed with the welcome screen by clicking Next.
2. On the Application License Agreement window agree to the terms of the license agreement, click Next.
3. On the Database License Agreement window agree to the terms of the license agreement, click Next.
4. On the Installation Mode window select Advanced type of the EzParts 5.0 installation.
5. On the Advanced installation settings window, select both Install EzParts 5 application files and Configure Database Server options, click Next.
6. On the Configure Database Server window, select EZPARTS5 from the drop-down list, and click Next.
7. On the Resources Settings window, select Leave resources on DVD check-box.
8. On the Installation Folder window click Next.
9. On the Shortcut Folder window click Next.
10. On the Ready To Install window click Next.
11. On the Installation Successful window click Finish.
12. The EzParts Electronic Parts Catalog Software application will be installed.
13. When installation is completed double click the EzParts Electronic Parts Catalog Software icon on the Desktop. On the Login window click the Options button and then Edit. Specify the resource location on the Edit manufacturers window: click the [...] button at the end of the Resource location field.
